Res Ipsa

Res Ipsa Loquitur accepts news stories and columns from law students, professors, and practitioners to provide Michigan State University College of Law students with information about their immediate legal community. It keeps the student body abreast of happenings in the Student Bar Association and covers events at the law college. Res Ipsa also encourages dialogue between students about pertinent legal issues and informs them about what their peers have been doing.

In addition, Res Ipsa Loquitur familiarizes students with Lansing and its various cultural offerings. It encourages students to become involved in their community and to represent the law college as active civic-minded citizens. In short, it is a tool for the student body and will respond to students’ changing needs in the future.

Special Projects Committee

The Special Projects Committee is in full gear this fall.  Besides providing coffee on Wednesdays to all students, they are also currently planning many upcoming activities.  The committee is looking for female students willing play powder puff football, and looking for male students to coach/referee the games.  Men and Women of MSUCOL calendars are also in the works to raise money for charity.  In addition, starting the week of November 4th, recepticals for Toys for Tots will be placed around the law building and last throughout the holiday season.

The Special Projects Committee is currently discussing some options for the Spring Semester, including MSUCOL athletic pants and a possible function with the Medical students.  The committee is constantly looking for more ways to benefit the law school as a whole.  If you have any suggestions on how that goal can be achieved, please submit your ideas in the comment box outside of the SBA office.
